چکیده

In this paper we propose a trajectory based reachability analysis by using local finite-time invariance property. Trajectory based analysis are based on the execution traces of the system or the simulation thereof. This family of methods is very appealing because of the simplicity of its execution, the possibility of having a partial verification, and its highly parallel structure. The key idea in this paper is the construction of local barrier functions with growth bound in local domains of validity. By using this idea, we can generalize our previous method that is based on the availability of global bisimulation functions. We also propose a computational scheme for constructing the local barrier functions and their domains of validity, which is based on the S-procedure. We demonstrate that our method subsumes some other existing methods as special cases, and that for polynomial systems the computation can be implemented using sum-ofsquares programming.

Multi-Query Feedback Motion Planning with LQR-Roadmaps

Here we present an algorithm which addresses the need to produce high performance, provably stable feedback controllers for constrained nonlinear systems with goals and constraints that are not fully specified until runtime. Our approach is to precompute a multi-query directed “roadmap”, with each segment representing a locally optimal trajectory of the system and a continuous family of verifie...

STRONG: A Trajectory-Based Verification Toolbox for Hybrid Systems

We present STRONG, a MATLAB toolbox for hybrid system verification. The toolbox addresses the problem of reachability/safety verification for bounded time. It simulates a finite number of trajectories and computes robust neighborhoods around their initial states such that any trajectory starting from these robust neighborhoods follows the same sequence of locations as the simulated trajectory d...

Observability analysis of conewise linear systems via directional derivative and positive invariance techniques

Belonging to the broad framework of hybrid systems, conewise linear systems (CLSs) form a class of Lipschitz piecewise linear systems subject to state-triggered mode switchings. Motivated by state estimation of nonsmooth switched systems in applications, we exploit directional derivative and positive invariance techniques to characterize finite-time and long-time local observability of a genera...

Robust Online Motion Planning with Regions of Finite Time Invariance

In this paper we consider the problem of generating motion plans for a nonlinear dynamical system that are guaranteed to succeed despite uncertainty in the environment, parametric model uncertainty, disturbances, and/or errors in state estimation. Furthermore, we consider the case where these plans must be generated online, because constraints such as obstacles in the environment may not be kno...
